Tracy Taylor loves what she does, which is a good thing because many of her customers hate it. If hate is too strong a word, it is certainly not something they want to do themselves. If that sounds like a great business opportunity, you will have to get in line behind Tracy. She thought of it first. “I love social media,” she says, “so I decided to turn my passion into a business so I can love going to work every day.”
Tracy began TNT Marketing in 2010 because the marketing work she was doing was changing into social media work and her employer did not see that change taking place. She knew it could be a stand alone business because people needed it, but did not know how it worked. So, she filled the gap.
“We do social media because business owners don’t have time and are not sure how to do it. You are on social media 24 hours a day. There is a balance between connecting and selling and we know how maintain that balance.”
One of Tracy’s clients is Brewed Awakenings on Chapman Highway in Seymour. Since Tracy started working with them the eclectic coffee shop has tripled its Facebook page likes and increased its revenue every month in ways directly attributable to Tracy’s work. She now has 23 clients and is preparing to bring on more help so she can continue to grow. “Some people want to do this in-house,” she says. “So I also offer coaching so your personnel can learn how.”
But what is wrong with doing business without social media, the way it has always been done? “Social Media marketing is no longer an option,” she said. “It is necessary for every online or offline business. Social media networks are part of our everyday life and for online businesses (or websites) it is a great way to quickly spread the word about a product or service, increase brand awareness, find new customers, engage with prospect and current customers, create a community about your product or service and advertise your products or services. If you don’t do it, your competitors will.”
Tracy is married to a firefighter, has three children and two great Danes and is “nana” to the neighborhood kids. And just as she loves social media, she loves socializing with the people in her neighborhood.
