MEMPHIS (press release)—To wind down his 60th year in professional music, legendary Johnny Cash/Carl Perkins drummer, WS Holland, has released a brand new CD.

The WS Holland Band “Live in Memphis” was recorded in the city where Holland’s career began six decades ago with rockabilly king Carl Perkins at Sun Records.

As Johnny Cash’s only drummer the CD includes hits such as “Ring of Fire” and “I Walk the Line.”

The new CD brings a fitting close to a year that has held so much for W.S. and the band and certainly sets the stage for 2015 when the band once again finds itself on the road.

A career that has spanned over six decades has not slowed this Rock & Roll pioneer down in the least. W.S. Holland continues to tour the world drumming out his signature rhythms for audiences of multi-generations. His energy on stage never wanes and the man Johnny Cash dubbed “The Father of the Drums” keeps the beat going in a display of classic rockabilly, rock & roll and the eclectic sounds he laid down on most of the hit recordings of Cash, Carl Perkins and other iconic artists over the decades.

W.S. is a walking history lesson for the streams of musicians and fans that come to hear him play and share stories of experiences on the road, lessons learned and firsthand accounts of being there when a huge chunk of American music history was being created and introduced to the world.
