Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, N.C. set a record fit for a king Saturday night by amassing the largest gathering of Elvises in history to set a Guinness World Record. A total of 895 Elvis fans donned wigs, sunglasses and jumpsuits and gathered in the Grand Event Center to be counted. To get into the Elvis spirit, the Casino gave Elvis outfits to any and all attendees who wanted to take part in the record setting event.
Saturday’s attendance of 895 Elvis impersonators shattered the previous record of 645 set in 2010. The world record attempt was assembled prior to the start of the Ultimate Elvis Contest.
Guinness World Record adjudicator Michael Empric confirmed the record and after a rousing chorus of the King’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” presented Harrah’s assistant General Manager the Lumpy Lambert the award.
