Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals now confirms that a Seymour man has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery that occurred at Little Caesar’s Pizza on Chapman Hwy. On Sunday morning, John A Tidwell, 22, of 410 n. Pitner Rd. entered Sevier County Little Caesars Pizza on Chapman Highway and threatened two employees with a pair of scissors. Tidwell allegedly forced one of them to open the safe. When Tidwell bent down to retrieve the money from the safe, a male employee kicked him in the face. A struggle ensued and Tidwell reportedly fled on foot leaving most of the cash behind.
Tidwell was arrested on unrelated warrants on Monday by Sevier County Deputies that stemmed from an August 2014 domestic related incident in Sevier County. Officers arrested Tidwell at his home on Monday without incident and after being taken into custody he was developed as a suspect in the robbery.
Investigators interviewed him on Tuesday and he gave an incriminating statement at that time. Tidwell was charged with robbery in connection with the incident. Tidwell also faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and domestic assault in connection with the domestic incident in August. Tidwell was arraigned before a magistrate and is being held pending an arraignment before a judge on Sept. 24.
