The second annual Relay for Life, Bark for Life of Sevier County was held at the Sevier County Fairgrounds last Saturday. The canine event was a chance to bring man’s best friend into the campaign against cancer.
The day began with a blessing of the dogs and continued with a lineup of talent that entertained participants. The event hosted vendors offering pet accessories, pet portraits and treats for all members of the family.
A special survivor walk around the track and a balloon release carrying the names of loved ones capped off the day. Organizers proclaimed the event a success as they raised over $5,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Special thanks go to the all the vendors and sponsors that supported this year’s event. Team members are already looking forward to next year and invite the public to join Relay for Life of Sevier County at Patriot Park, May 30, 2015 to help “celebrate, remember and fight back.”
