The Gatlinburg Beans and Cornbread Festival presented by Bush Brothers & Co. drew more than 3,000 people to the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. Attendees of the Beans and Cornbread Festival were pleasantly surprised by celebrity appearances from Nan Kelley, host of “Great American Country’s Top 20 Country Countdown” and Duke, the Bush’s Baked Beans dog.
Festival visitors received unlimited samples of beans and cornbread prepared by more than a dozen vendors who competed in a cook-off judged by local media. Great Smoky Mountain Catering Company took home 1st place with the most votes, Three Jimmy’s Restaurant came in at 2nd and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies finished in 3rd place. The People’s Choice Award went to Zi Olive. Other winners were A Breath Away Gallery, Yukon Heath Popcorn Emporium.
