The Sevier County Public Library System will host best-selling author Ashton Lee for an author event on Wednesday, September 25 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.at the SCPLS King Family Library located at 408 High Street in Sevierville.

Lee will discuss his first two novels: The Cherry Cola Book Club, and The Reading Circle: A Cherry Cola Book Club Novel. Recently, The Cherry Cola Book Club, a best-selling novel, was also chosen as one of the books on the Deep South Magazine Summer Reading List. The third novel in the series, The Wedding Circle: A Cherry Cola Book Club Novel is scheduled to be released in February 2015.

Lee was born in historic Natchez, Mississippi where he grew up in a large, extended Southern family. He cites his childhood experiences as having provided much fodder from which his current fiction is written. Lee’s  father influenced his writing. His father, who wrote after World War II under the name of R. Keene, was also a writer and editor of pulp fiction in New York.

As an aspiring author, Ashton majored in English while attending The University of the South, affectionately known as Sewanee. Ashton currently lives in Oxford, Mississippi.

Following the discussion about his current and future books, Ashton will sign books for the public. Books-a-Million has generously agreed to be on hand to sell copies of Ashton’s two current novels. The event is open to the public. For more information about the Ashton Lee author event, call (865) 453-3532.
