PIGEON FORGE (press release)—There is one definite about Dolly Parton; the lady isn’t satisfied with the status quo and she won’t stand still. Not comfortable with being one of the hottest singers/songwriters in the music industry, she bought her own amusement park, Dollywood. Then she went for an overly large dinner theater, Dixie Stampede. Dolly’s big on overly large things.
Next she added her own water park, Splash Country, next door to Dollywood. Now she’s announcing the purchase of the Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show, expanding her entertainment offering in Pigeon Forge and setting the stage for future growth.
“We believe it has a great future here and I’m excited to get started!”
“Since opening in June 2011, Lumberjack Feud has been well accepted by the guests,” Parton said. “We believe it has a great future here and I’m excited to get started!”
“Our plan is to lease back the Lumberjack Feud facility to its current operator for the remainder of the 2015 season,” Jim Rule, President of World Choice Investments, LLC and Parton’s Management Company for the Dixie Stampede and Pirates Voyage said. “We plan to make major renovations to the facility and add significant family fun action and comedy elements for the 2016 season.”
“This will be a fun, creative project for all of us as we continue to develop Pigeon Forge into a world class family destination,” Parton explained. “As Jim said, we plan to develop a new, exciting version of the Lumberjack show and unveil it next spring. It will include major updates, changes and enhancements that I feel will greatly exceed guest expectations.”
The sale of the theatre and property is effective immediately.
