With fall in the air and the beginning of basketball just around the corner, teams are starting to think about the season and how to best prepare for the challenges which lie ahead. For one local college, a team trip to Dollywood this Sunday provides the perfect way to gear up for the season.

Maryville College Men’s Basketball Head Coach Randy Lambert sees a trip to Dollywood as an opportunity for his team to regroup and enjoy a day of fun as they get ready for the 2014-2015 season.

“Before our season starts,” Lambert said, “we like to do a few team-building activities. Going to Dollywood with our players is a fun day and a highlight of our fall pre-season.”

With a Scots basketball team featuring a number of new players and a large contingent of returning players, Lambert uses the visit to allow his entire team a fun way to connect with one another away from the court.

“College-age young men love to go to theme parks, and we are fortunate to have one of the best in the world right in our back door,” Lambert continued. “We have guys on our team from six different states and I enjoy sharing a true Smoky Mountain experience with them.”

Lambert and the Maryville Scots Men’s Basketball team visited Dollywood on Sunday, Sept. 28.
