Sept. 3

Maryville—The Knoxville Opera Company will present a 2015–2016 season preview including pieces from Boito’s Mefistofele, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and Puccini’s Tosca 7 p.m. at the Blount County Public Library.

Nashville—The Shelby Bottom String Band will play for audiences 6–8 p.m. at the Frist Center Café in the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.

Sept. 4

Bristol, TN/VA—It’s About Tyme: Russell Moore & Illrd Tyme Out will continue the Radio Bristol Sessions Concert Series 7 p.m. at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.

Nashville—Zoovie Nights will show How to Train Your Dragon during its final night of the season 6 p.m. at Nashville Zoo.  

Memphis—Rocky Horror Picture Show will play for audiences and encourage participation 8 p.m. at The Orpheum Theatre.

Sept. 4–5

Gatlinburg—Join Discover Life in America for the overnight Biodiversity Hike to Mt. Le Conte.

Huntsville—The third annual Ridin’ Dirty will be headlined by Travis Tritt, David Lee Murphy, and Halfway to Hazard at Trails End Campground, home to hundreds of miles of ATV trails in the 145,000-acre North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area.

Sept. 5

Collinwood—Live entertainment, a parade, food, antique cars and tractors are part of Old Timers Day at Ralph Hughes Park.

Nashville—Enjoy a songwriter session with Kim Richey 11:30 a.m. at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

McMinnville—Enjoy tunes from Lonesome River Band and Old Salt Union at Bluegrass Underground in the Volcano Room of Cumberland Caverns.

Pigeon Forge—Runners will participate in the Kickin’ Chicken 5KRun and Fun Walk 8 a.m. at The Comedy Barn Theater®.

Jonesborough—The autumn town-wide yard sale will take place 9 a.m.–3 p.m. along the sidewalks of downtown Jonesborough.

Sept. 6

Nashville—Get a fiddle and clogging demonstration from Tori and Kati Huntley 1 p.m. at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Chattanooga—Embark on the TVA History Cruise: “Lock Through Chickamauga Dam” to learn the history and operations of the TVA along the Tennessee River 4:30–7:30 p.m. on the Tennessee Aquarium River Gorge Explorer.

Sept. 7

Nashville—It’s your last chance to see Italian Style: Fashion since 1945 and Jaume Plensa: Human Landscape before it closes at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
