GATLINBURG (press release)—Presli Stinnett placed first in fighting and first in forms at the IIKA Hall of Fame Karate Tournament held in Gatlinburg on Saturday. She is a student at Caton’s Chapel Elementary School and had only been taking karate lessons for about six months. Presli is one of many trophy winners at the C C Isshinryu Karate School in Sevierville.

C C Isshinryu Karate School owned by Freddie and Libby Cantrell has been here for 15 years.  2015 looks to be a banner year for the local school as Freddie, a 5th degree black belt and Libby, a 3rd degree black belt, were both recently added as History Generals in the Texas based Museum of Sport Karate. Libby Cantrell was recently inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Freddie is a national and international champion. These two martial artists are well known for their efforts in the community.
