Shots were reportedly fired near the Wendy’s on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge Saturday night at approximately 10 p.m. during Rod Run. The shooting coupled with thousands of car enthusiasts crowding the boulevard had traffic snarled for hours.
Police and emergency personnel were on the scene quickly. Details are scant at this time. All calls to the Pigeon Forge Police Department are being referred to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation which is expected to release information soon.
One post on Trip Advisor, which is yet to be confirmed, stated that two men from Bristol, TN were approached by a man wielding a gun and demanding cash. The two men reportedly refused to give the man any money and he reportedly shot both men killing one and wounding the other. The shooting was said to have taken place in the River Lodge South Parking lot.
