[Update: After a ten hour manhunt, the suspect was arrested this evening without incident at a convenience store in Harlan, Kentucky. He was arrested following an anonymous tip. Sevier County detectives are en route at this time to Kentucky to retrieve Beverly.]
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating a man hunt for a suspect in a Wednesday morning shooting in Kodak. According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, at app. 11:15am Wednesday morning the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office received a call stating that a shooting had occurred at 1058 Eagle View Drive in the Kodak/Northview community.
Officers responded and upon arrival found the 39-year-old female occupant of the home deceased in the driveway. A witness told officers that the victim’s estranged husband, Andrew B. Beverly, age 45, had come to the home and after an altercation in the driveway Beverly allegedly shot his wife.
Authorities are searching for Beverly who was last seen in a maroon Pontiac Torrent bearing Tenn. Tag# E14-77V. The name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. Beverly is described as a black male, standing 6 ft., weighing 185 lbs and wearing khaki pants and a pink polo shirt. Beverly was last known to be living in Blount Co.
