Editor’s note: in the interest of full transparency, the owner of the Tennessee Star Journal, Mike Gullion, also owns Wild Gals Old Time Photo.
Wild Gals Old Time Photo has won the coveted 2015 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. It has earned 260 customer reviews of which 202 were rated five stars with an additional 33 being four stars.
Wild Gals is owned and operated by three siblings: Mike Gullion, Julie Mortimer and Brianna Mortimer. It opened in August of 2013 and quickly became the dominant old time photo in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg. What makes Wild Gals unique is the size of the studio, themes and service previously unheard of in the area.
Unlike other studios that have limited floor space and props, Wild Gals is the largest old time photo studio in the region. It measures more than 5,000 square feet and features eight scenes. Clients may choose to have their photos taken in various settings, such as 1800s western saloon and Roaring Twenties gangster.
Unlike many studios that take quick photos in abbreviated shoots, the staff at Wild Gals gives clients a full 30-45 minute shoot, allowing them to chose from 40-80 pictures.
“This has worked out better than our wildest dreams,” said Brianna Mortimer, co-owner of Wild Gals. “We have had more than 40,000 people walk through our doors. And we couldn’t have done it without our amazing staff. They’re very professional and accomodating.”
The owners of Wild Gals are extremely selective in their equipment and photographers. The studio uses state-of-the-art technology and only the most experienced photographers.
“Most, if not all of our photographers, have 10–25 years of experience,” said Mortimer. “What this means to the customer is a superior experience and top quality photos that captures their vacation memories. These are the kind of photos that people will be proud to display in their homes.”
Wild Gals Old Time Photo is located at 1981 Parkway in Pigeon Forge across from the Smoky Mountain Opry. Although reservations are not required, they are strongly encouraged since shoots fill up quickly during the summer season. For more information, call (865) 365-1733.
