A local man is being held at the Sevier County Jail for a litany of charges after an attempted break in at a Kodak residence. The contents of a bag being carried by the would-be intruder may result in more charges against the man.

According to reports, Gregory Black was observed by neighbors as he was prowling around a home with a flashlight and attempted to break into a house on Cagley Circle Road at 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The home was occupied by a single female who was reportedly sleeping and unaware of the events unfolding outside her home. Police were dispatched and when they arrived on the scene the suspect fled into the woods. After a brief chase on foot, Black was apprehended approximately a half mile from the crime scene and placed under arrest.

According to reports, Black was carrying a bag that contained pepper spray, condoms, a wig, rope, latex gloves and a knife. Investigators also collected evidence at the scene which will be analyzed by the TBI lab.

Black was charged with Att. Aggravated Burglary, Criminal Trespassing, Stalking, and Observation without Consent, Vandalism, Criminal Impersonation, Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest and Public Intoxication. Black was arraigned before a Magistrate and a $25,000 bond was set. Black has a hearing on March 6th in Sevier County General Sessions Court. The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be placed once the investigation is concluded.
