SSV logoSEYMOUR (press release)—The Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) is proud to host “Seymour Salutes Veterans,” a free community event fun for the whole family, to honor and assist our Veterans and those who serve. The event will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., rain or shine, at First Baptist Church Seymour, 11621 Chapman Hwy. The Keynote Speaker will be Congressman Phil Roe from the first District of Tennessee, and member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

The event will include a Classic Car Show, Live Music, a Silent Auction, Veteran Assistance Booths, Food Vendors, Cornhole Tournament, and Activities for Children. Proceeds will go to the Veterans Emergency Fund of Sevier County, and the Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce, to help further their missions in our community. The Chamber website details how individuals and businesses can donate items for the Silent Auction, become a Sponsor/Vendor, and register for the Classic Car Show: www.SeymourTN.org.

“The Chamber is very excited to host this special event for our Veterans. We wanted to have a day where our community could come out and honor our local men and women who serve our country. It is a small way to give thanks to them and their families for all of the sacrifices they have made for us. We should never forget them and all they do, and this event is one way the community can celebrate them. We are especially thankful to our “General” sponsors: Colonial Loan Association, new to our community; and Network Technologies, US Cellular Authorized Agent for Seymour, serving our residents for 14 years now,” said Linda Karam, Chamber President.

The Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce supports its community by addressing the needs of Seymour and its surrounding area. SACC 2014 Officers include President, Linda Karam, Independent AdvoCare Distributor; Vice President, John Linsenbigler, Seymour Volunteer Fire Department; Treasurer, Melissa Frazier, Tennessee State Bank; Secretary, Gayle Boyd, Bullet Boats, Inc.; and Managing Director, Autumn Galyon, Network Technologies.

Established in 2000, the Seymour Area Chamber of Commerce is comprised of volunteer Officers and Board of Directors. It is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization.
