A routine traffic stop resulted in a drug arrest Wednesday during which police confiscated seven and half ounces of cocaine worth more than $8,000 in street value.

According to reports, George Jose Cantillano, 44, of Pigeon Forge, was stopped on Connor Heights Road for a traffic violation. The stop led officers to Cantillano’s home located a short distance away on W. Mill Creek Road lot #17 where officers discovered cocaine, $1,445 in cash, 12 new cell phones and three stolen flat screen TVs.

The evidence collected by police includes more than $7,000 of Cocaine and $1,445 in cash.

Cantillano was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II narcotics for resale, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a valid license. The stolen TVs and cell phones are still under investigation by the sheriff’s office criminal investigation division and Gatlinburg Police Department. Cantillano was arraigned before a magistrate and a $25,000 bond was set. A preliminary hearing date has been set for Feb. 16th in Sevier County General Sessions Court.
