Gary Hollar, 71, of Sevierville passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 after a year-long battle with cancer. He served in the Navy during the Viet Nam Era. He was a Police Officer in London, Ohio and Miami, Fla before moving to Tennessee. He was involved in resort sales for many years. Gary was a good father to his daughters and a friend to everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Lou and Wayne Hollar; sister, Carol Hollar Patton; grandparents, Clara and Leslie Cox of Ohio.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Kelley Claiborne and husband, Toby Claiborne, Leslie Lewis and husband, Russell Lewis, all of Sevierville; former wife, Ruth Ann “Rudi” Hollar; grandchildren, Nicholas Trentham, Tyson and Cannon Claiborne, Zachary, Tanner, and Preslie Lewis, all of Sevierville; sisters, Terry (Bud) Thomas, Melissa (John) Hull, and Amy Thomas and husband, Albert Snyder; long-time friend, Charles Outlaw and wife, Patrice; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 4 to 8 PM Saturday, February 6th at Main Stays Suites, 410 Pine Mountain Road, Pigeon Forge. All are encouraged to wear Caribbean themed attire. Arrangement by Smoky Mountain Cremation Center, Pigeon Forge.
