Nannie Sue Helton, 85, of Sevierville passed away peacefully Monday, January 18, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born October 16, 1930 and raised in the Beech Springs area. Nannie Sue was happily married for 65 glorious years. She was a faithful and devoted member of Walden’s Creek United Methodist Church for 60 years and raised her family in church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and Howard Pollard; and her brothers, Jim Pollard, Melvin Pollard and Ray Pollard.
Nannie Sue is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ray “Bush” Helton; son, David Helton; daughters, Sharen Sanderson and husband, James, and Karen Stutzman and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Chad Helton and wife, Sonja, Jason Sanderson and wife, Katy, Kelli Bohanan and husband, Tim, Todd Sangid and wife, Rachel, and Katie Humphries and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Emily Helton, Alaina and Oliva Sanderson, Molly and Seaton Bohanan, Sadee and Brock Sangid, and Emma and Hunter Humphries; special friends, Audrey Dockery, and Ken and Susie Parker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walden’s Creek United Methodist Church, 1219 Waldens Creek Rd, Sevierville, TN 37862.
The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Thursday with the funeral service to follow at 6 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hartley and Rev. Fred Heard officiating.
