KNOXVILLE (press release)—The Tennessee softball program welcomes back UT legends and past stars on Oct. 12 with its annual Alumnae Game at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
Tennessee will celebrate its 20th year of softball in 2015 and several of the players who played pivotal roles in building the program will make their return to Rocky Top on Oct. 12.
This year, fans will be in for a treat as the alumnae will compete in a home run derby at 1 p.m. with the Alumnae Game against the current Tennessee team to follow at 3 p.m. The alums will also play a three-inning slow-pitch game after the Alumnae Game. Admission to the alumnae festivities and all Tennessee fall exhibition softball games at Lee Stadium is free of charge.
Six Tennessee All-Americans will be in the visitors’ dugout, including Sarah Fekete Bailey (NFCA All-American in 2005 and 2006), India Chiles (2007), Tiffany Huff Mitchell (2009), Kat Dotson (2010), Raven Chavanne (2010, 2011, 2012, 20013) and Madison Shipman (2012, 2013, 2014). Several familiar faces and fan favorites from yesteryear such as Buffy Walker, Kenyail Norris, Melissa Brown, Melissa Davin and Shannon Doepking will also take the field for the alumnae team.
